Bernie is a graduate of the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics.  He founded Weiner Insurance in Kankakee, Illinois in 1959.  Bernie received his Certified Life Underwriter designation from the American College in 1965, and in 2004 he obtained his Certified Long Term Care designation.

Civic and community affairs have always been important to Bernie, and he has been involved with the YMCA, Temple B’nai Israel, and The Jewish Federation.

Bernie enjoys golf, reading, traveling and collecting wine.
